Abstract
PURPOSE/AIM: TO review a wide spectrum of fetal thoracic pathology with pathological correlation and TO demonstrate the accuracy of prenatal MRI IN the characterization of congenital thoracic abnormalities
CONTENT ORGANIZATION: Between 2000 and 2007, 43 fetuses with suspected thoracic abnormalities on US were evaluated with prenatal MRI IN our INstitution. Diagnosis of MRI were compared with anathomo-pathological records as well as with postnatal imagINg and surgical fINdINgs. Our series INcludes different grades of pulmonary hypoplasia, adenomaTOid cystic malformation, congenital lung emphysema, bronchogenic cyst, cystic lymphangioma, diaphragmatic hernia, dextrocardy and esophagus atresia.
SUMMARY: LearnINg objectives : 1. TO demonstrate the imagINg fINdINgs of congenital thoracic pathology at fetal MRI. 2. TO evaluate the role of the fetal MRI IN the characterization of congenital thoracic abnormalities.
