Abstract
This short essay discusses the issue of spiritual care and "interprofessionality". Three types of arguments in favor of interprofessional approaches are described: the increasing complexity of clinical situations requiring multiple competencies, the growing health needs requiring a redistribution of tasks, and the call for a democratization of the care space beyond medical paternalism. These recent developments are certainly opportunities, but they pose significant difficulties in terms of professional identities. It is therefore important to ensure that the professions that interprofessionality seeks to articulate are not lost, which is certainly a danger in a "liquid society" that values fluidity and interchangeability.
