In this paper, we highlight the legitimacy of adopting a lexicographic optimization framework for multi-objective problems
arising in various industrial contexts such as production, transportation, telecommunication, and supply chain management.
We describe the main ingredients of the metaheuristics that are successfully applied to these diverse practical situations.
