Abstract
To describe the successful management of a massive iridoschisis after penetrating keratoplasty for keratoconus, using the nd:YAG punctures.
A 73-year-old male patient has undergone four penetrating keratoplasties for keratoconus. Nine months after the last surgery, patient presented with massive iridoschisis involving the visual axis. Patient was successfully treated with nd:YAG laser iridopunctures.
Massive iridoschisis could be a potential complication of keratoconus, especially after penetrating keratoplasty. This condition can be potentially treated with nd:YAG iridopunctures.
