Abstract
A recognized indication for immunization was found in
almost all patients admitted in our ICU for severe pneumococcal CAP.
Despite lower mortality than those predicted by severity scores, one
quarter of those with a septic shock died. Our data suggest that these
deaths may have been avoided by immunization
