We outline the main principles on which pregraduate and postgraduate training in psychotherapy are based. We discuss certain points in the training of psychotherapy during medical studies as well as in psychiatry at a postgraduate level. This training enters many fields such as for example medicine, psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Each one has its theories, logics, temporalities and practices. Working on their intersections leads to necessary reaccomodations and compromises that are as much a source of riches as of tensions.
