In the present contribution, we pick up the question of the enjambement in François Villon’s work. We will explore the effects of sense created by the poet in the verses dealing with power relationships. The study consists of three parts: Villon and the auctoritates, the author facing the powerful, or assuming the role of a moralist giving lessons to other people. The enjambements guide the reader in his understanding of Villon’s oeuvre, since they highlight the disrespect that characterizes his poetry.
