Abstract
The Saint-Triphon briançonnais klippe (Rhône. Valley, Swit:zerland) is formed by overtumed, subhorizontal middleTriassic Iimestone. A detailed structural analySisrevealed the following structures (the chronology of which is shown in Fig. 1 and 2):
- conjugate normal faults (Fig. 1);
- tension fractures (Fig. 2 and 6);
- concordant stylolites (subcontemporaneous with the fractures and therefore of tectonic origin);
- a paleokarst system filled with red or· yellow colored clastic laminated dolostone (Fig. 4, 5 and 8). This system runs along the faults; severa! phases of filling altemate with phases of fracturing (Fig.. 2 and 3).
