“Le iscrizioni romane del Canton Ticino” è l’edizione completa di tutte le iscrizioni latine di età romana su pietra note dal territorio dell’attuale Canton Ticino. Si tratta della prima opera in cui queste iscrizioni (in totale 34 documenti + appendice) siano riunite tutte insieme e presentate con gli stessi criteri moderni di edizione, mentre già esistono pubblicazioni relativamente recenti sulle iscrizioni preromane (celtiche) e medievali del Canton Ticino. Tutte le iscrizioni sono state oggetto di un’attenta ricerca bibliografica e storica; quelle ancora accessibili sono state studiate sul posto. Ognuna di esse è stata poi descritta, trascritta, illustrata, tradotta in italiano e commentata, nel rispetto delle convenzioni internazionalmente riconosciute e considerando sia il testo epigrafico sia il suo supporto, ossia il manufatto in pietra scolpita. L’obiettivo principale di questa edizione è sfruttare al meglio le potenzialità delle fonti epigrafiche per integrare le conoscenze storiche e archeologiche sull’età romana in Ticino. = "Le iscrizioni romane del Canton Ticino" is the complete edition of all known Roman inscriptions on stone from the territory of today's Canton Ticino. This is the first work in which these inscriptions (a total of 34 documents + appendix) are brought together and presented with the same modern publishing criteria, whereas there are already relatively recent publications on the pre-Roman (Celtic) and medieval inscriptions of the Canton Ticino. All inscriptions have been the subject of careful bibliographical and historical research and those still accessible have been studied on site. Each of them was then described, transcribed, illustrated, translated into Italian and commented on, in accordance with internationally recognised conventions and taking into account both the epigraphic text and its support, i.e. the carved stone artefact. The main objective of this edition is to make the most of the potential of epigraphic sources to supplement historical and archaeological knowledge on the Roman Age in Ticino. = "Le iscrizioni romane del Canton Ticino" est l'édition complète de toutes les inscriptions romaines sur pierre connues du territoire de l'actuel canton du Tessin. Il s'agit du premier ouvrage dans lequel ces inscriptions (34 documents au total + annexe) sont réunies et présentées selon les mêmes critères de publication modernes, alors qu'il existe déjà des publications relativement récentes sur les inscriptions préromaines (celtiques) et médiévales du canton du Tessin. Toutes les inscriptions ont fait l'objet de recherches bibliographiques et historiques minutieuses ; celles qui sont encore accessibles ont été étudiées sur place. Chacune d'entre elles a ensuite été décrite, transcrite, illustrée, traduite en italien et commentée, conformément aux conventions internationalement reconnues et en tenant compte à la fois du texte épigraphique et de son support, c'est-à-dire l'objet en pierre taillée. L'objectif principal de cette édition est d'exploiter au mieux le potentiel des sources épigraphiques pour compléter les connaissances historiques et archéologiques sur l'époque romaine au Tessin.
