Abstract
: Spirituality plays a vital role when considering patients in both oncology and palliative care fields. The present overview describes studies testing the efficacy of main psychological interventions that have been developed to address spiritual or existential distress. One main outline is that a majority of studies (8/12) report a positive impact on spirituality. When taking into consideration the interventions' degree of efficacy and completion rate, it appears that meaning-centered psychotherapy, mindfulness-based therapy and those based on life review telling should be recommended.
