Abstract
This article argues that the Coptic Apocalypse of Peter (NHC VII,3) showcases, in watermark but undeniably, a scenario of the end of times, the main steps we can retrace by looking more closely at elements dispersed in the text. The article also addresses the question as to whether or not the Apoc. Pet. stems from an “apocalyptic movement” or does reflect “apocalypticism” – where “apocalypticism” and “apocalyptic” are used in a popular sense as designating and referring, respectively, to the belief that the end of times is close or even imminent.
