Cet article analyse l’intersectionnalité entre genre et handicap et (hétéro)sexisme et capacitisme à partir d’une étude du parcours de vie d’une femme utilisatrice d’un fauteuil électrique. Il se fonde sur des entretiens provenant d’une ethnographie multisituée du powerchair hockey et analyse les engagements successifs de cette femme dans des carrières handisportive et de bloggeuse, la positionnant face à une injonction contradictoire: effacer les signes de sa féminité pour performer le handicap ou effacer son handicap pour performer sa féminité. Cet article démontre les mécanismes sous-jacents à une tension entre intégration et exclusion dans ses performances d’une féminité «supercrip».
This article analyzes the intersectionality between gender and disability, as well as between (hetero)sexism and ableism, based on a study of the life course of a woman powerchair user. It is based on interviews from a multisite ethnography of powerchair field hockey. It analyzes the successive commitments of this woman in her sports and blogging careers, which have positioned her in front of a contradictory injunction: to erase the signs of her femininity to perform disability or to erase disability to perform femininity. This article demonstrates the mechanisms underlying the tension between integration and exclusion in her performances of “supercrip” femininity.
