Abstract
The authors report on a series of 370 sterilisations using Yoon's rings, of which 300 were carried out laparoscopically. They confirm the efficiency of the method and its safety because there was only minimal operative morbidity. On the other hand this technique offers the possibilities of reversal of sterilisation in such a way that it should be the preferred method to be used systematically when a young woman is being sterilised.

Median age of patients was 34, 14 were nulliparous. With the celioscopic procedure operative complications were numerous but never serious, and mostly caused by the rupture of the tubes in the hands of an inexperienced physician. No morbidity followed, except a few irrelevant cases of abdominal pain. The abdominal and vaginal sterilizations were carried out concomitantly with other other procedures, such as abortion or exploratory curettage, there were no operative or postoperative complication. The Yoon technique of sterilization has the advantage of offering more chances of reversibility than other techniques, and it is, therefore, especially recommended for younger patients.
