Abstract
In this paper, we analyzed the impact of the financial crisis on audit fees paid by 177 French listed companies. Our results show that audit fees decreased significantly over the period 2005-2010, but the results are sensitive to the choice made by those companies to hire 2, 1 or no Big Four.
