Abstract
This article proposes a hermeneutical approach to the graphic novel Jo. It has been published as a resource for HIV prevention operations, especially for young people and heterosexuals. The theoretical framework of the study based on the reflection of Gauchet on democratic modernity, will be specified (part 1). We will propose an analysis of the novel (part 2) thanks to both the theories of care and a broad and stabilized sense of the kindness concept. A critical discussion will then be conducted (part 3), first addressing the author’s approach. Then we will investigate what, in this graphical novel, is likely to help us thinking an ethics of sexuality education nowadays. The latter must be compatible with critical humanism and substantial individualism.
