Résumé
Protein requirements and energy expenditure are closely related, especially in infants. As compared to adults, the very fast protein turnover in newborns is highly energy consuming. Considering protein requirements, quantity and quality have to be taken into account to avoid a metabolic stress, particularly in preterm infants.
