The "radiotherapy structure set" (RTSTRUCT) object of the DICOM standard is used for the transfer of patientstructures and related data, between the devices foundwithin and outside the radiotherapy department. Itcontains mainly the information for regions of interest (ROIs) and points of interest (e.g., dose referencepoints). In many cases, rather than manually drawingthese ROIs on the CT images, one can indeed benefit fromthe wealth of automated segmentation algorithms availablein ITK. But at present, it is not possible to export theROIs obtained from ITK to RTSTRUCT format. In order tobridge this gap, we have developed a framework forexporting contour data to RTSTRUCT [1].
