This research was conducted in one of the few public child psychiatry services located in an urban context in Morocco as well as in the home of the children and adolescents encountered in this place. All of the treatments are based on cognitive-behavioral approaches, and the objectives of these therapies (educational or psycho) consist in modifying the behavior of children and adolescents. This angle leads to the disappearance of the psyche from theoretical references of the team in favor of a reading based on the brain and cognition. My work aims to understand what children do in therapy and what therapies do to children in order to understand one of the contemporary fabrics of troubled childhood and adolescence. In examining the role and place of children, adolescents, and their parents in the therapies offered (without focusing on a particular pathology), I extend my analysis to experiences at home of the daily life of families, children, and adolescents, in order to document the changes initiated as a result of the therapeutic work. From these observations arises the concern for the self, the therapy, the other, and the context that young patients manifest through the therapeutic work accomplished. My interest was in the way of being-in-the-world of these children and adolescents, while integrating into my reasoning of their interactions with the parents and the professionals surrounding them. Therefore, I defend that the therapies favor the emergence of a moral competence in children and adolescents (through a process of circularity between the hospital and the home). On one hand, this allows them to modify parental educational practices, and, on the other hand, it gives them the possibility of providing care towards their parents. Thus, I show that children and adolescents are not only recipients of care, but that they are also, at different times and with varying intensities, providers of care.
