From the 15th century to nowadays, the success of the "Quinze Joies de mariage" has never faltered. Misogamous clichés certainly die hard, but does that alone account for the continuous positive reception of thi jewel of misogynistice literature? There are good reasons to doubt it. The collection of short stories comprises further characteristics that may resonate with our world view; they invite the reader to question the mechanisms and legitimacy of an actualizing reading. This article delas with three points: (1) the impact of a detail (the respect for nature); (2) the importance of a thematic axis (feminine solidarity); (3) the parallels betwwen feminine cunning ant the cleric's narrative strategies.
