Résumé
Assigning the value of biological results is in many countries a mandatory requirement for the admissibility of evidence. This complex undertaking requires high-level awareness of the principles of forensic evaluation and interpretation, the hierarchy of propositions, population genetics and more generally the use of probabilities for measuring uncertainty. It also implies that the scientist identifies as early as possible the issue with which forensic biology can help.
