Résumé
The main purpose of this study is to examine the effect of selected geographic and temporal factors on NICU use in two contiguous cantons, Vaud (VD) and Valais (VS), experiencing different mortality rates. In particular the effect of these factors on mortality and NICU utilization is under scrutiny.
Vaud and Valais will be considered as a single catchment area. The research is mainly based on information available on birth and infant death certificates.
