Résumé
To describe a case of ocular tuberculoma mimicking primary intraocular lymphoma.
A 66-year-old male presented with an exudative retinal detachment, a whitish lesion, and +2 vitreous cells. A PCR that was performed twice was positive for intraocular lymphoma; a PPD was also strongly positive and the patient received anti-TB drugs as a first-line treatment, with complete resolution of all his ocular symptoms.
PCR is a marker only of clonality and not of malignancy, and therefore molecular data should be interpreted within the context of clinical presentation, especially in areas where TB is endemic.
