An anthology of keyboard compositions by Tarquinio Merula (1595-1665) was published by Alan Curtis in 1961. Basing on François Seydoux’s research, the present critical edition presents for the first time seven keyboard works by Merula not included in Curtis’ collection: two Versetti for the Kyrie, a Toccata and Genus cromaticum and three Canzoni. These pieces are part of two Swiss manuscript sources (Solothurn, Zentralbibliothek, S. 609; Altdorf, Staatsarchiv Uri, P-96/1).
