This introduction to the section of Central India gives an overview of the situation of the Adivasi/tribal groups from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisghar, Madhya Pradesh, trying to delineate particular historical, sociological and ritual features, common to various (often linguistically connected) groups or particular to certain ones.
