Here we highlight some differences of opinion with the work by Chen et al. (2016) concerning: (1) biostratigraphical ranges at the specific level within the genus Pseudofurnishius; (2) biostratigraphy, age and palaeobiogeography of ammonoids, in particular of the genus Eoprotrachyceras; and (3) systematics and nomenclature ofthe subfamily Sephardiellinae.
