Résumé
The pediatric curricula in Munich, Heidelberg, Freiburg and Berlinrepresent a broad spectrum ranging from a traditional ( Freiburg) to areformed curriculum ( Reformed Medical Studies Program Berlin). Specialconditions pre-existed in Munich (Munich-Harvard-Alliance) andHeidelberg (HeiCuMed). All curricula are based on explicit learninggoals and objectives and incorporate specific teaching and examinationformats as well as evaluated curriculum characteristics. The curriculumin Munich is problem based and organized within a framework of lifecycle modules. Moreover, communication training and a childresuscitation course are offered. In Heidelberg students are offeredelective modules in addition to a core curriculum. Strong emphasis islaid on the constructive alignment of learning objectives, teaching andexamination formats. The personal attachment of small groups to anexperienced medical tutor is one aspect highly appreciated by thestudents in Freiburg. The Reformed Medical Studies Program in Berlincan be used to set up a blueprint for a pediatric curriculum that meetsthe Bologna criteria, thus in line with the European higher educationsystem.
