Abstract
Standard radiography remains an important diagnostic tool in the practice of primary care medicine. As a result of the development of radiological facilities, ionising radiation doses have become less and less important and image quality has improved considerably. Nevertheless, each radiological examination must be justified with a proper indication. The conditions for high quality images and low patient radiation are well-trained staff, a sensitive imaging system, a good "diaphragm" and a quality control system.
