In this book, the peculiarities of the outlook of polis habitants are determined in the context of tendencies of development of Ancient religion, and possible reasons of their origin are ascertained. Religion of ancient Chersonesos is viewed in a social dimension, that is the primary significance is attached to the question: who were the adherents of that or another cult, what were the religious groups conducting certain rituals and how wide was a circle of believers of that or another deity. A general picture of religious outlook of habitants of Ancient Chersonesos is shaped in dynamics of the development of the city. Highlighted peculiarities in it were not the influences other ethnic groups, but the result of individual historic development of this centre. General traditionalism in the evolution of religious outlook was caused by the original way of development of Chersonesos as a Dorian colony founded with the participation of Delians on the territory surrounded by the hostile barbarians, and when the autonomy was lost it was caused by the striving to preserve the distinctiveness of the city.
