Abstract
This article develops a cosmopolitan field analysis, drawing on Bourdieu and Beck, to analyze Swiss hospitality management schools (SHMS). Using a multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) and 19 interviews, it highlights the competing uses of academic recognition, admissions, and alumni networks, as well as the complexity of reconciling Swiss and international identities. The results highlight the nuanced interaction of local, national, and international attributes in shaping the attractiveness of SHMS on the global scene.
