During a hot summer in Dublin, a group of medical students and a college professor were discussing what exactly it takes to be a great medical student in the clinical setting. This book is the product of these discussions. Perhaps becoming a doctor is a journey that is uniquely different for each one of us. Yet we all agreed that we strive to be the best medical students and future doctors that we can be, and that there must be some common thread that defines “being great” and even “thriving”. We don’t claim to be experts, yet we all would have loved some guidance on how to approach this exciting transitional period in our own medical education, from the classroom to the clinic room.....
