This chapter addresses the internationalization of Swiss banking elite careers and examines specifically their geographical employment mobility. It explores the flow-dynamics of career geography by conceptualizing career as a sequence of different spatial states. The chapter considers two specific questions: What are the different geographical types of careers of Swiss banking elites? How are these types characterized? The chapter discusses the potential benefits of a geographical approach to careers. It presents the specificities of the Swiss banking sector. It provides a sequence analysis resulting in a typology of banking careers. The chapter develops the hypothesis of distinct groups of banking elites for whom internationality and mobility are differently mobilized during the occurrence of their career. Scholars have been debating whether the internationalization of economic activities leads to the emergence of international business elites. National careers seem to be typical for the older generation of banking elites, and they are very rare among those below 45 years of age.
