Abstract
Rare sporadic reports of anterior uvea primary intra- ocular lymphoma (PIOL) concern primarily the iris with occa- sionally secondary ciliary body (CB) involvement. We describe 2 cases with significant CB infiltration by PIOL without signifi- cant iris or choroidal involvement History and Signs Case 1 A 76 years old man referred to our hospital for a suspecting amelanot- ic melanoma of the CB of the right eye. Ultrasound (U/S) dis- closed 360° infiltration of the CB with acoustic solidity Case 2: An 84 years old woman was referred to our hospital presenting a well-defined nodular mass of the iris. U / S demonstrated signifi- cant infiltration of the CB. The histological and immunohisto- logical features after biopsy indicated extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma in both cases Therapy and Outcome Both pa- tients received external beam radiation therapy (EBR) that in- duced complete lymphoma regression Conclusions Diaphorodiag- nosis of a CB tumour should include isolated lymphoma even in case of absence of iris of choroidal involvement. U / S may dem- onstrate acoustic solidity while tissue biopsy is necessary for di- agnosis. EBR may induce complete lymphoma regression
